Client Solutions Back End Application Developer



Job description



This role is part of Impact Forecasting, Aon’s catastrophe model development center.

The global Impact Forecasting team of 140 members based in 5 offices around the world (Prague, London, Chicago, Singapore, and Bangalore) consists of scientists, model and software developers, and client services colleagues.

The main function of the team is to develop, maintain, support, and promote the use of catastrophe models for various natural and human-made perils including flood, windstorm, earthquake, fire, and terrorism.









Client Solutions Back-End Application Developer







We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled C# .NET backend cloud developer to join our Client Solutions team, working on delivering SaaS applications providing access to Impact Forecasting’s catastrophe models for (re)insurance.









What the day will look like?







+ Developing the application back-end in C# .NET



+ Designing and implementing RESTful APIs and event-driven architectures



+ Following DevOps processes, team collaboration using agile and GIT



+ Participating in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback)



+ Working closely with data and business teams



+ Proactively collaborating with frontend developers, possibly doing React.js development as well



+ Aligning with internal standards and guidelines



+ Writing and maintaining unit tests, using mocks and emulators for SIT (System Integration Testing)



+ Crafting and maintaining OpenAPI specifications





Skills and experience that will lead to success





+ Strong experience with C# .NET and Web API framework



+ Experience with REST and event-driven architectures



+ Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, including serverless solutions



+ Proficient in GIT, ideally Azure DevOps or similar DevOps platform



+ Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written; Czech language proficiency is a plus



+ Great teammate, capable of collaborating on projects with various colleagues



+ Self-motivated, self-organized, and willing to create documentation



+ Willingness to work and co-operate in a corporate environment









The preferred candidate will have experience working with Docker, as well as a background in system integration testing, unit testing, and using mocks or emulators.

Familiarity with OpenAPI is valued, and the role also requires a technical and analytical mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Additionally, experience with GraphQL would be a plus.
