**Introduction**
The JBoss Sustaining Engineering team is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the development of Enterprise Application Platform.
In this role, you will build solutions for customer requirements and bugs to improve the quality of EAP.
Communicating with support, core and product engineers is essential in achieving this goal.

Your code will be reviewed by different senior engineers which gives you a great opportunity to learn a lot about the Java ecosystem and your code quality.

You will also be contributing your solutions to our Open Source JBoss projects:

Hibernate

**Your role and responsibilities**
Be responsible for developing and maintaining JBoss EAP code, including:
* Backport already developed improvements and fixes
* Develop solutions to improve quality of JBoss EAP and its components
* Maintain and write unit and integration tests where necessary
*
Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
Collaborate effectively in a distributed, cross-time-zone team environment
**Required technical and professional expertise**
*
Advanced Java programming experience
*
Experience with development of Java EE applications
*
Practical experience with Maven and Git
*
Practical experience with scripting (Bash, Python)
*
Experience with testing (Junit, TestNG) at least on unit-test level
*
A positive attitude and desire to share ideas openly
*
Proven ability to work autonomously
*
Excellent communication skills at all levels across the business
