Position Description:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in MS SQL, who also has a basic understanding of Windows server administration.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of MS SQL databases, along with providing basic L1 and L2 support for Windows server management.
This hybrid role will involve working with both database technologies and offering basic support for Windows environments.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Manage, configure, and optimize MS SQL Server databases (e.g., MS SQL /).
- Perform regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.
- Ensure database security, compliance, and performance optimization.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve MS SQL-related issues.
- Collaborate with developers to design efficient database schemas, indexes, and queries.
- Provide L1 and L2 support for Windows Server environments (e.g., Windows Server ).
- Assist in basic Windows server tasks such as patches, updates, and user account management.
- Automate routine tasks such as database backups and basic Windows maintenance using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
- Participate in system and network troubleshooting alongside the IT team for integrated solutions.
- Provide support for database-related performance tuning and diagnostics.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in MS SQL database administration.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Server management (e.g., Windows Server /).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for databases and basic Windows systems.
- Experience with MS SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and data migration.
- Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation tasks.
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2 or higher).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with cloud database solutions (e.g., Azure SQL).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and certifications.
- Experience with other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Knowledge of Windows security practices and hardening techniques.
- Familiarity with network concepts and system integration.
